Medicine Registration Officers (Grade 5)
Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) is a Statutory body created by an Act of Parliament No. 9 of 2019 with the mandate to regulate medicines and allied substances, pharmacy businesses and the practice of pharmacy in Malawi.
In a bid to strengthen human resource capacity in delivering this mandate, the Authority is inviting applications from suitably qualified, highly motivated and experienced persons of Malawi origin to fill various positions tenable at its
Head Office in Lilongwe. The following are the details of the vacant positions: –
Position : Medicines Registration Officer (2)
Grade : PMRA 5
Reporting to : Senior Medicines Registration Officer
Job Purpose : To ensure that Medicines Assessment and
Medicines Registration processes are carried
out efficiently and effectively in accordance with
relevant laws, policies and regulations
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensuring that dossiers are submitted and processed in line with the standard operating procedures
- Reviewing medicines registration documentation submitted by manufacturers
- Summarizing findings in the medicine’s dossiers for technical committee’s review and consideration
- Attending and responding to customer enquiries and queries relating to product registration or post-approval amendments
- Coordinating product registration and verification exercises to ascertain compliance to registration requirements
- Maintaining liaison and collaboration with key stakeholder agencies involved in product quality, procurement and supply to ascertain compliance to registration requirements
- Preparing and updating register of Medicines, Cosmetics, Medical Devices and herbal medicines and Food/Feed supplements
- Processing applications and managing queries associated with assessment and registration of products
- Preparing and submitting medicine assessment reports to the Senior Medicines Registration Officer
10.Any other duties as assigned from time to time by the Senior Medicines
Registration officer.
Qualifications, Experience and Attributes
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from a recognized university with at least three (3) years’ work experience as a pharmacist
- Registered with Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA)
- Must be of high integrity with mature disposition
- Must have no criminal record
- Must be conversant with the provisions of the PMRA Act No. 9 of 2019
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be computer literate in Microsoft packages
