Mr. Mphatso Kawaye is a qualified Pharmacist and licensed to practice. He holds a Master of Science (Pharmacy) degree obtained from Taipei Medical University in June 2016. He also has a Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons) Degree from the Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (formerly College of Medicine) obtained in 2009, and a Bachelor of Education (Sciences) Degree majoring in Chemistry obtained from the University of Malawi (formerly Chancellor College).
Mr Kawaye joined the PMRA as Drug Registration Officer on 1st April 2011, and served in this position until 2013, when he was appointed Acting Chief Drug Registration Officer and later as Chief Medicines Registration Officer. He also served as Acting Registrar from September 2016 to March 2019. Prior to joining the PMRA, Mr Kawaye worked as Lecturer in the departments of Basic Sciences and Pharmacy at the Malawi College of Health Sciences, Lilongwe Campus.
Mrs. Irene Immaculate Dzanjalimodzi is strategic human resources management certified professional with 16 years’ experience. She holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Maastricht School of Management (MsM) and Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI)
She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Malawi – Chancellor College. She is a Certified Conflict Management and Resolution plus a Proactive Management Professional.
Irene Dzanjalimodzi has vast experience serving as a Strategic Partner, Advisor on workforce plans and business alignment having worked for the Public, Private, International Non-Governmental (INGO) and Airlines Sectors.
Mr. Steven Chapima has a Master of Science degree with commendation in Pharmaceutical Analysis obtained from Kingston University (London) in 2013. He also has a Bachelor of Science degree with credit in Environmental Science and Technology from the University of Malawi obtained in 1998, a Diploma in Laboratory Technology with Credit also obtained from the University of Malawi in 1994. He has a certificate of competence in managing analytical laboratories from North West University in South Africa.
He joined the PMRA in July 1999 as Drug Analyst and has moved through the ranks to the position of Chief Medicine Analyst in November 2011. He is currently serving as Chief Medicine Analyst.
Mrs Chrissy M.W Chulu is a registered pharmacist. She holds a Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration (Regulatory Sciences) obtained from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (Hons) from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine, and Diploma in Pharmacy from Malawi College of Health Sciences.
Chrissy has a wealth of working experience within the pharmaceutical sector (hospital and pharmaceutical regulation). She Joined Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) on 1st April 2012 as a Medicine Inspection Officer. Prior to joining the PMRA, Mrs Chrissy M.W Chulu worked with the Ministry of Health at Zomba Central Hospital as Head of Pharmacy Department. Currently she is serving as Chief Medicines Inspection Officer.
