Acting Chief Medicine Registration Officer
Edwin Chipala is a pharmaceutical regulatory expert with over 10 years’ experience in regulation of medicines for different regulated markets and regulation of clinical trials. He has provided consultancy services on quality of medicines to a number of international medicine regulatory agencies and he is a resource person in the SADC Region as a trainer of assessors of medicines (quality) and as a writer of scientific summaries for medicines assessed through collaborative registration procedure in SADC (Zazibona). He has further participated in joint review sessions for clinical trial applications for implementation in a number of African Countries.
He holds a Degree of Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Science (Distinction) from Kingston University, London under Commonwealth Scholarship and a Bachelor of Pharmacy Honours Degree (First Class) from the University of Malawi, College of Medicine. He joined the Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority on 2nd April, 2012 as a Drug Registration Officer. He is currently serving the Institution as Acting Chief Medicine Registration Officer.
